Irene Horvath

Irene Horvath

Irene was born in Southern Hungary in 1937 to a farming family, (her father a farmer and her mother a city girl), they grew Wheat, Rye, Oats, Barley, Vegetables of many varieties, Herbs and had many different Animals.

Irene had an interest in the healing properties of plants from a very young age. She later graduated with honours from a special Higher Education College as an accountant and method engineer and became a savings bank branch manager at the young age of nineteen (19).

Having been successful in the world of business, becoming a Senior Personnel Manager in Telecom (Telstra) in Australia, she never knew that her early childhood interest in herbs and plants would one day become a full time successful career, she went back to school at the age of 42years to study Acupuncture and Natural therapies in her new country (Australia where she moved to in 1957 as a refugee with her then husband).

She studied alongside her son Tibor for many years actually becoming the dux of the Acupuncture class by having the highest scores of Distinction level! She then went on to study herbal medicine (both western and eastern), Iridology, Bowen Technique, Remedial Therapies, Nutrition, and Flower Remedies.

Together with her son Tibor was instrumental in establishing the ‘Natural Healing Centre Blacktown’ in 1982 where they both still help people on a daily basis using a multitude of therapies, the most popular being Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.

Her son Tibor also had an evening college for 21 years teaching Remedial Therapies (now closed since 2006), in which Irene taught Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, and Flower Remedies for a number of years. Irene holds many diplomas and certificates in a varied number of modalities.

Irene has health fund rebates for Acupuncture, Naturopathy, Bowen Technique and Remedial Massage.

Irene has also just released her first self-help book on herbs available from her practice and this website, a number of health products are still under development and will be available in the near future.

Her second book of her life starting with her mother’s birth and the story of the whole family will be released in the near future, and will include the miracles of happenings in her life that lead her on the healing path.

Tibor Horvath

Tibor (Tibby) Horvath

Tibor was born in Yugoslavia in August of 1957 to Hungarian refugees Stephen and Irene Horvath after they had escaped the 1956 Hungarian Revolution against Russian occupancy. They were accepted by Australia as immigrants (the farthest continent they could escape to from Europe) and arrived in this wonderful country on the 18th December of 1957.

Having spent his growing years from age 2 to 5 in private day care with a kind Australian lady who had three children of her own (because his mother had to find work to help the family survive). Tibor was a fast learner and picked up the English language easily. Tibor continued his studies becoming a high school graduate with Matriculation to higher education.

He first studied electrical engineering, then health and building surveying, and eventually discovering the wonders of Acupuncture (a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine) and studying the same. His Mother Irene asked if she could join him on the introductory aptitude screening seminars, to see if she too could be interested in learning this new and unusual form of medicine. At the end of the four weeks it was clear that both had a knack for it!

Tibor decided to start studying this unique method called Acupuncture (a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine), whilst studying Acupuncture at ‘Acupuncture Colleges Australia’ (later to be absorbed by UTS University of Technology Sydney), he also became qualified in Remedial Massage and teaching from a division of the ‘Sydney College of Chiropractic’ (prior to it going to Macquarie University in 1991). Tibor taught there from 1982 until 1988, establishing his own evening college in 1985 (The Australian Academy of Remedial Therapies) which ran for 21 years until it’s closing in 2006, graduating almost 2,000 Remedial Therapy students! Tibor developed and wrote the entire curriculum for all courses until enlisting the help of other professionals to refine the programs. He was also a Director of the ‘Australian Traditional Medicine Society’ (ATMS) for 26 years, with his courses being accredited by the same.

Well one course led to another leading to a multitude of qualifications including but not restricted to Acupuncture, Remedial Therapies, Iridology, both Chinese and Western Herbal Medicine, Nutrition and Nutritional Biochemistry, Sports medicine, Touch For Health (Applied Kinesiology), and Bowen Technique.

He and his mother Irene established the ‘Natural Healing Centre Blacktown’ in 1982 and still help people to this day using a number of differing healing methods, the most popular being Acupuncture, and sports medicine in Tibor’s case.

He has health fund rebates for Acupuncture, Naturopathy, and Remedial massage.
